Zhenyuan Wheels Unveils the World's Lightest 28kg Heavy Truck Wheel

On the morning of November 1st,Zhenyuan Wheels,in collaboration with POSCO,held a global online press conference in Beijing to release the world's lightest 28kg heavy truck wheel.Representatives from the China Automobile Manufacturers Association,including Deputy Secretary-General Chen Shihua,as well as representatives from FAW, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles,BAIC Foton, SINOTRUK,SHACMAN,and other industry associations and companies,attended the conference along with Hu Aijun,Chairman of Zhenyuan Wheels,and Song Young-sam,General Manager of POSCO’s China Division and Head of the China Business Division.

As one of the world’s largest steel manufacturers,POSCO provides over 26 million tons of steel products to users in more than 60 countries worldwide every year.In recent years,POSCO has engaged in a strategic cooperation with Zhenyuan Wheels to develop specialized lightweight steel for wheels targeting the Chinese market,making contributions to the green transformation of China’s transportation sector.

Established in 2002,Zhenyuan Wheels is a national-level high-tech enterprise focused on wheel research and manufacturing.It has been recognized as a national"Little Giant"enterprise,a Shandong Province manufacturing single-champion enterprise,a Shandong Province hidden champion enterprise,and a Shandong Province innovative demonstration enterprise,among other honors and titles.

At the press conference,Zhenyuan Wheels and POSCO unveiled the world's lightest 28kg heavy truck wheel.The product,developed based on material upgrades and structural optimizations,is named the Breeze 3.0 Ultra-Light Wheel.It is expected to reduce the weight of a single wheel by 18kg.The wheel has applied for seven national patents and has been verified by several domestic vehicle manufacturers,achieving mass production.

According to Yan Xiuqiang,the manager of the R&D department at Zhenyuan,some domestic companies publicly claim that their lightweight wheels weigh 28 kg,but when actually weighed,their weight is 29.5 kg,which still does not meet the optimal design.Overseas heavy and light trucks typically weigh between 33-45kg.Therefore,Zhenyuan Wheels'28kg wheel is the lightest in the world,leading the industry!

It is understood that this product is mainly applicable to three scenarios:new materials,using 700MPa grade ultra-high-strength steel,which cannot meet the requirements for the lightweight 28kg wheels with existing steel.The company has collaborated with top 500 Chinese high-strength steel companies to develop new materials that meet the strength requirements.The second is new technology;this product adopts optimized design and manufacturing processes in its production.

The excellent material and perfect structural design have achieved the superior performance of the Ultra-Wind 3.0.Compared with ordinary steel wheels of the same type,the Ultra-Wind 3.0 wheel reduces the weight by 18kg.According to the calculation of a 6x4 tractor-trailer,a single vehicle can reduce the weight by about 5.45kg,saving about 30,000-50,000 yuan annually.Its strength is three times that of ordinary steel wheels,and its wear resistance is twice that of ordinary steel wheels.It has better balance,stronger deformation resistance,and durability.Its weight is comparable to aluminum alloy wheels,but the cost is less than half of aluminum alloy wheels.
